    Hi Peter
    I've run accross this before, usually it's a dry joint on ECU pin 3, that part of the relay also powers up the coils, I always earth that pin (ECU #3) with the break out box and check whether the car runs, if it does and is not pulling the relay down the ECU is faulty with out further testing.
