Landrover Discovery 1990 3.9l EFi - Idle hang up problem, idle gets faster Archived Message

This ones really important guys as it's my own vehicle!
The original engine was a 3.5 carb but I have fitted an early 3.9 Range Rover unit and EFi system. It all works very well but for an idle hangup problem, the idle is ok for about the first 5 miles then as the engine gets fully up to temp it starts to idle progressively faster until it idles as about 11-1200 rpm. Stop and restart the engine and it goes back to normal for a few minutes. The idle stepper and throttle pot are both less than a year old, I have tried all sorts of settings for base idle speed and throttle pot base voltage.I have fitted a coding resistor for manual gearbox setting.
The only thing it has not got is a vehicle speed sensor would this cause the problem? (I have put a ground on the input in case it was seeing noise)perhaps it does not know whether to set up a stand-still idle or not?
Does anyone know the answer before I put my hand in my pocket for what is bound to be a lot of money to find out it makes no difference.
Unfortunately neither my Axone or ACR4 will talk to a 14CUX system.
