Many thanks Nigel, hadn't thought of looking for live data through OBD I will try that next time.
Just to let you know that after stripping all the plastic off this engine & top inlet manifold to access the throttle body, a thorough clean seems to have done the job. At least the weekend has passed without the customer shouting back it hasn't worked, they were reluctant to pay as they had presented a RAC warranty which they thought would pickup the bill. Aren't they always ever hopeful!!!!!
