    Hi Tony

The throttle body was really the last thing I could possibly think of that may be at fault(after spending hours on it!), I contacted a local VW parts chap who is always very helpful and he told me these commonly fail and they sell loads of them! Thankfully it cured it, but 'along the way' I have lost out in a big way on hours of labour and parts. (Fitted new cranshaft position sensor, ht lead set and plugs).

In the end we replaced the throttle body labour f.o.c and just charged out the part. Very difficult situation as the customer had just had the gearbox rebuilt and had new clutch, spending over 1k on the car! In the end with jobs like this we always seem to lose out, it is very frustrating.
