Hi all , This Golf is now driving me to despair, vehicle was booked in for interim service, my wife collects & tells me it doesn’t go very well for a GTI, so I ask one of the lads to give it a run & he reports back , how the fu!!!!! has he been driving it like that. I got his permission to take a look & this is what I’ve found , but not yet come up with a fix please take a look and give me your views.
READING AT CRUISE C/O: 0.00 CO2:10.85 HC: 2 O2: 5.49
Injection Duration:4.22(high?)
Fuel press : 3 bar, Fuel delivery : ok as spec.
Fault codes found: intermittent misfire only,
Right,; I can see o2 is very high & when taking live readings, engine is going in & out of closed loop, if I increase fuel pressure (by nipping return pipe) I has a instant effect & run ok, I have scoped lambda sensor & it is flat, but when return pipe is nipped its ok, also if I spray brake cleaner into air intake it has the same effect, I thought may be injectors blocked, but I have had theses cleaned, I have looked for air leaks but I just cant find any.
