This vehicle varies between high idle speed (1500 rpm)and severe surging at idle but is ok when throttle is opened. So far I have only carried out a few basic checks but was hoping for any ideas before having another look. When vehicle is not surging the emissions are fine but when it is CO and HC are ok but CO2 is about 12% and O2 is about 2%. The fan cutting in seems to slighlty stabilise the revs. No fault codes stored and all sensors seem to check out, even O2 sensor is switching ok even when surging is present. I cannot understand why the surging is not increasing either CO or HC's. This fault is currently present but has been intermmitant for nearly a year now. Thanks for any suggestions in advance. Bryan.
