Many thanks Gary your advice was spot on just had the car in and cured the problems. You would not beleive the ammount of time spent on the phone to various tech advice lines and the vehicle was in the local vauxhall dealers for over an hour and even they were scratching their heads. We have done many of these engines with head gaskets before but this is the first time I have come accross this problem of mixing up the vacuum pipes Thanks again John K.
