Hi Paul... I have had numerous 'encounters' with these. Its always worth just shorting (dd you say that!?) the FP relay..or renewing it anyway but 9/10 it is an ECU fault. It could be the MFU as was said - that thing is always a spanner in the proverbial but they can be bypassed. You could if you wernt too sure have the ecu tested independant of the vehicle. But my shot would be the ecu. WHat are the numbers on the ECU Paul..and what year the car? Mike
