Ford Mondeo 1.8 RK 1997 - surging at idle for a few seconds, then ok for a few days Archived Message

car suffers from surging at idle, only for a few seconds, can be ok for a few days and then it starts again. has done it today about three times, each time i dont get to see much, Its not an ignition fault or idle contol, no fault codes stored, fuel pressure ok, not checked flow, I have watched live data and the only thing I can see is that the injector duration fluctuates between 2ms and 8ms causing the car to surge.
On the last drive today i connected the flight recorder, the only thing I saw was the o2 sensor dropped off and flat lined and the short term fuel trim was increased, this was at cruise and didn't cause it to surge and stall.
    Any ideas?
