this sounds like a faulty injector when you crank the engine monitor the fuel rail pressure it needs to be 150 bar + in order for the injectors to start firing one quick way to confirm this is to tow start vehicle this raises the rail pressure beyond 150 bar then it will fire up the other way to check is remove covers on top of the engine gain access to the injector leak back pipe remove tiny metal clip on the injector completely remove the leak back pipe on all the injectors get an assistant to crank over the engine for 10 secs (mercedes use a glass tube Part no 611 589 01 21 00)and see if any of the injectors are losing lots of fuel out of the top if they are ok you should get no more than a teaspoonful , if its u/s you will get a large amount hence thre rail pressure will not build up non start etc if you are unsure give me a call on 07768363545
