Vauxhall Astra 1.6 1998 X16SZR - Code B3040 Immobiliser fault Archived Message

Can anyone tell me if Immo fault code "B3040 Communication problem line W" means the signal from immo to engine missing, or have I got another faulty SZR engine ECU not returning the signal to immo?
