hi . We have go this 206 peugeot which is cutting out at any speed sometimes dyieng and picking up others altogether stopping but imediatelly restarting. The customer had the fault intermitently but never when he brought it in. It developed to all the time regardless of engine temperature. there are no codes in the system even though the mil light comes on when it dies. We have had scopes on it monitoring power and earth circuits and established what we believe to be a power down situation. we had ecu tested no fault found. then car refused to start altogether and we found it was not powering the main relay.(relay already replaced) so ordered a recon ecu from atp at cannock. just fitted it the car now runs but still cuts out as before ARRRRGHH. Now my first instinct is to attack it with the sledge hammer!! but obviously this would be foolish ahem.
So any ideas iv had 3 days on it and spent 150 on subcontract tests and noone, sun technical , peugeot technical etc esp me have any idea. I have been told the coils give problems but reluctant to renew any more bits and coil does not tie in with the fault,or does it? sorry to waffle on but you know how it is.
