Mazda RX7 1996 1.3/2.6 EFD3S - Emission faults #

Hi all has any of our members here had difficulty with emission on these,as regards getting them through the mot .
We have had this vehicle for some time now and i have found & fixed a number of problems with it, and each one has, A.got it running B.got the emission down to a point where you can work on it without filling the work shop with fumes of a very nocious nature.
Now i have reached a wall with the emissions,i have tested every sensor input and output to no avail.
In desperation i have borrowed another one of these from a friend of a customer of our's, so on Saturday in went in to take data from this vehicle to compare with the other to find out what,s amiss.
Would you belive it this one runs richer than our's and all the data matches.The doner car has had a re-built engine 6,000 miles ago.
Has anybody got one of these through the test?

Hi Nigel
what are the compressions?
does the vehicle start much easier dropping a couple of squirts of oil down each bore?
i know its bad for cat but once should not hurt
have you checked valve timing?

Hi John compression around 175 psi,vacuum improves the longer it,s running.
This is Wankel engine ,and as such it has ports rather than valves,it,s basically it,s a two stroke.
The joke is that i borrowed this other RX to help diagnose mine ,but it run worse,D,oh.

Hi Brian,take one of the two plugs out in each of the two rotors and; spin it over!
Warning! I you can't disconnect the primary side of the coils,KEEP well clear of the ht leads!
