Toyota Yaris 1999 1.0 1SZ-FE - Failed emission test - Fixed #

Toyota Yaris E/code 1SZ-FE OPEN LOOP
Failed emms test with hi co of 6.25 at idle rising to 8.90 at 2500.
Scan show fault code as P0125 : insufficient coolant temperature for closed fuel control,ect excessive time to close loop fuel control.
Live data shows CTS reading 89-92,O2 sensor rising and falling as expected,fueling status open loop.
Disconnect fan and allowed temp to rise to 108 c and still no change to loop status.
I have little info on this vehicle,I note that there is a third wire from the CTS,yellow in color what is its function? The others are brown. And red with blue trace.
Customer he has been aware of the Mil light for the past three months and (has his own scanner!) he has changed the following items to no avail.
Customer has prior fitted, CTS,O2sensor,thermostat all OE kit.
Our Launch shows a memory reset function which when selected returns me to the live readings selection screen with a prompt to check the manual to see if this function is available I presume they mean the Toyota manual,is this function available on this model?
I am wondering if it is ECU related,has anyone out there any suggestions and more importantly has anyone a wiring diagram or pin-out details on this vehicle.

Have had two with same co reading at idle for moton Yaris. there is a valve next to the throttle housing. remove and cleaned. cured the co reading.
Worth a try.

Which side of the throttle body? Do you mean the idle speed control valve?

At the raer of the trottle body and no it is not the idle control valve. When i had this trouble I phoned a good friend of mine who is a top man with a toyota main dealer and he told me that this was the main reason for a yaris to fail emmisions.

Seriously though, this is a closed forum, so its not like this stuff is going to get into the public domain (instantly anyway). Surely we as paid up members can be allowed to hear of the fixes. If not then why bother!

Maybe I am being naive again!

Having said that, I do feel that the guys in the trade have a duty to keep sctumm in the public arena. Aren’t you all pissed off with customers coming to you, with more knowledge on the subject than the majority of your staff?

Maybe its just me!

Easy one this.
Suspected ECU. Sent customer to Toyota main dealer,they relieved said customer of better than 700.00 quid and swapped the ECU.

I have the exact same fault code on this mondeo with same symptoms,this car also uses some oil and when we are carrying out the gas test it starts pouring out white smoke?have replaced cts but no change live temp reading appears ok,drives fine and customer claims mpg is good as well.any thoughts much appreciated.
fault code is p0125.

does your mondeo blue smoke bad if you hold the revs at about 2500rpm if so there is something you can do with the breather system will have a word with a freind of mine at our ford specialist tommorow he did one for us just cant remember what it was

Thanks for that Tony.Never really got to the bottom of it but it worked!must be a ring problem,if we carried out the emmision test from cold no problem. I also tried disconnecting the breather to the inlet manifold and the air intake pipe but made no difference to smoke or co reading.
