Fiat Stilo 2002 1600cc 16v 182B6000 Misfire

Car came in with reported fault of loss of power, mil on tested system found fault code P0202, P0203, P0204 Injector circuit malfunction cylinders 2,3 & 4, cleared codes & with engine running P0202 returned. Carried out a few tests & found No2 coil pack faulty, replaced coil pack with genuine unit & spark plugs was fine for about 15mins then misfireing again with mil on, P0202 has returned. Has anybody had any problems like this as the information givev to me is that if a misfire develops the injector circuit for that cyinder will shut down is this correct or have I been mislead.

I should think the ecu driver may be damaged have you scoped the coil I presume this has the pencil coils. ray

Injector faulty. If you can't scope the injector could you swap the injector to another cylinder to force the code to another cylinder ???

the last two of these i have repaired two out of the four coils were faulty, one had damaged the coil driver in the ecm, had to replace ecm but no problem with coding its just plug and play,

I have swaped the coils & that changed the fault code to the other cylinder that the coil from cylinder 2 was fitted but the car runs very rough only just about running. I cant scope the coils as I dont have a scope.

The reccomended procedure to 'make sure' is to change the ECU and all coils at the same time. The reasoning behind this is that the coil failure often damages the ECU and it is then possible for the faulty ECU to damage the new coil. Also if one coil has failed , the others may not be far behind. In your case it sounds very much like ECU failure from your description.

Thanks Mike fo the information, I have tested the other coils & as you said they have failed as well, so will get prices on ECU as well coils for the customer then it's up to them.

Replaced all 4 coils, had a word with the dealer about replacement of the ECM & was told they have never replaced the ECM with coils so was happy to them start the engine & carry out adaptions, all working fine.
