Now, I am unlkly to be pursuing this further (geography is all wrong) but I am still curios
Car has intermittant power loss. Fault code for lean mixture.
I am strongly suspecting fuel pump presure drop but it is one of those carp designs with no access panel so it is impossible to check for blocked pick ups etc without removing the entire tank! , in any case when I saw it everything was running fine.
pump is not noisy but the car does have 180,000 on it so a worn pump would be quite resonable. However I was just wondering if their is any other "Standard" faults (sticking relays etc) that might cause this on these.
.......(geography is all wrong)........ The joys of being a mobile tuner! Know how it feels especially when you are dealing with an intermittant fault and car runs fine when you test it. Assuming everything tested OK, I would go for 02 sensor (180,000 miles) and then maybe AFM if nothing else manifests itself. The trick is to get the customer to understand that it could be an expensive fix if nothing else appears, or to wait until the symptons get worse.
