Slipped up with this one, customer phoned me and I said "bring it in", actually the AA towed it! Completely forgot it would be one of those 'orrible GDi's. Among loads of other phantom codes it had the famous 92 ETV MOTOR FB fault. Stripped and cleaned huge amounts of coke off it. Still sticking so adjusted until it wasn't. I'm still getting the code, pot looks ok on live data, throttle motor (rotary solenoid for the picky) is capable of controlling throttle through full travel. I had to remove throttle pot and would like to know what the settings should be at idle and full throttle or can it only be set by teaching? or is it just going to be a case of minor adjustments to the throttle pot until it works? Throttle plate seems to close too much, not sure if someone else has adjusted it, unwilling to adjust it as it's one more variable. Searched archives but nothing about setting up. Ideas gratefully received, Shaun.

After much testing and agonising I sent the throttle body to BBA who said they could find no fault and that the TPS was ok. Even though both tracks of the TPS had looked ok to me on the scope I asked them to replace it. When I connected it back up I immediately knew it was going to work as it initialised through full travel and parked at idle position. I'm so annoyed as if the TPS was available I would have put one on straight away.
