Alfa Romeo 146 2.0 Twin Spark 1999 (V) - Non start after clutch change - Fixed #

Had an Alfa in for a clutch today. When finnished the car wouldn't start and had the key light on and injection light on.

This didn't have 16 pin but the small connector plug on O/S inner wing.
Went in with Snap on heratige scanner and got key not programmed fault .

Looking at live data ECU voltage was at 0.1v.
Turned out to be the wiring corroded to 3 relays & 2 fuses attatched to the front of the battery tray. I guess in moving them out of the way we had managed to disturb the rotten wiring.

Glen , these are well known for relay problems , I had a 155 here in the summer, Moved it out of workshop, Would not start later on, turned out to be the relays by the battery. Cars eh, testing at the best of times, and how do you explain the extra time to the customer.

I know they are troublesome , I was just surprised to get a key fault code. Just shows how fault codes can send you off in the wrong direction !!
