Rover 1.6 / 1.8 1999> - Fault code P0170 fuel trim on mems 3 #

Engine Code or Type *: 1.6 & 1.8
( Optional ) ECU Type: mems 3
( Optional ) Scanner used: dec

I have had few rovers with code p0170 fuel trim, on mems 3 unit , I not sure whats causing this I have checked map, oxygen sensor, emissions, cam timing etc everything looks fine on live data, clear code and it comes back a few days later, starting to think this may be a promgaming fault or I am I missing something, one other thing can someone tell what rough road is in live data on these rovers. ray

Hi Ray, the rough road sensor input is used with the misfire detection program ie if the car is traveling over rough terrain then the misfire detection is de-sensitized or turned off as it can lead to false misfire reports.

Hi Ray. If I remember correctly, Rough Road speed signal into the ABS unit comes from N/S/F wheel sensor and Speedo works off O/S/R Wheel sensor.
