Renault Clio 1.2 16v 2003 Marelli 5NR - Non start, spark and fuel - Fixed #

( Optional ) ECU Type: Marelli 5NR2.C5

Hi , this ones been giving me the run around,we serviced it on friday,customer picked up ,drove it friday,sat then sat evening wouldn't start.No fault codes present except one for air con clutch relay but as no air con fitted can only assume it has the pin out from ecu so flags code .

It has spark,fuel pressure/delivery rate fine,basically has no switching at injectors. scoped crank sensor at ecu which is fine,checked feeds into ecu,checked wiring to injectors with ohm meter all fine,no fault codes for immob & light acts as it should do.

I'm thinking drivers gone down in ecu as even when you unplug injectors it won't give a code for it, so i'm after any silver bullets,ideas or anything really , I think ecu is coded so can this only be done by a Clip or by some chance is it plug & play???

Feeling like i'm kicking sh!t uphill here so probably off to dealers,the poor kid who owns it only passed his test last week so all in all a pretty rough start to motoring all round .

Hi Matt,
Not that familiar with Renaults, but sounds like similar problem Peugeots have when multi function double relay goes down.
No power to ECU no codes.

do you have supply to injectors, I would check your wiring loom espacily around the gearbox area is this engine with the coil pack & h/t leads. ray

Hi Ray,yes it is the one with coil pack & leads & it does have supply to injectors (12v)just no trigger

I have checked all supplies into ecu & all seem ok.

have to try ecu technoligies 01889575057 see if they promblems with that ecu and if they can repair. ray

Thanks Ray I'll try them in the morning,I've tried a few ecu testers/repairers but no one seems to touch them .

if its the type that they fill the ecu with a silcon/ rubber filler then you may nott find anyone. ray

Yeah that's the one Ray , I called ecu tec today just to see & no they can't either so it's off to renault.

I so hate seeing car's leaving on a spec lift but it's the old story of never having enough/right tools to complete every job.

Does anyone know if the Dec would of done the job ??

Well not so much fixed by me as cancelled due to lack of equipment.

It went to dealer,new ecu coded in & what do you know it started on the button.
