Vauxhall Vectra 1.8 X18XE1 2001 - Will not rev, only start and idle - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2001
Engine Code or Type *: X18XE1
( Optional ) Scanner used: Modis

Freinds car cralled to my garage on tickover read fault codes found 5 undocumented codes which meant nothing but one code (P1600 Reprogram or replace ecu) suspect this is likely fault with ecu as i know they are fairly prone to faults on these anyone come across this thanks in adv malc

Hi

Ar you sure correct system used on your scanner re fault codes. ?

Try cleaning throttle body, and ALL breather ports etc, clear codes

Pull the plug off the air mass meter and see if it then revs ?

If no luck with that take out the lambda sensor and see it it revs up, if it does you know you have a blocked exhaust.

obtained second hand ecu from good old 24/7 spares being the usual "one of my friends save them money" along with chip for key so no coding in required fit replacement chip into key along with ecu started and now runs fine see if i can get some money out of him now thanks for replys malcolm
