Year of Manufacture *: 1997
Engine Code or Type *: X22XE
( Optional ) ECU Type: Bosch

Hi Guys, this frontera has come in MOT fail on emmisions
CO 7.47
HC 413
Lambda .80
There's no Mil lamp on. No fault codes, live data shows Lambda sensor 0.825mv constant will only drop on deceleration. Lambda sensor has been replaced with a new NTK sensor voltage still the same. All other live data seems fine. Can anyone help PLEASE.

Thanks Martin

Martin, is there a live feed to the heater element on your new sensor? Possible broken wire? unlikely to be fuse, as circuit diagram shows fuel pump on same circuit, regards, Gwyn

Lambda at 825mV is telling you that it is rich. Which you know!

Changing the Lambda sensor wont change anyting cos it is working just fine (the fact that it switches lean on acceleration confirms this)

Look for WHY it is rich!

MAF/MAP sensor, CTS, etc (Cant remember off hand, but this might be a MAP system), look for faulty MAP/MAF sensor or blocked/split MAP sensor pipe.

(Your osciliscope is your freind.)

Failing that, look for air leaks or anything else that might be feeding false data to the ecu
