Nissan Primera 1.6 2000 - High CO at idle then cuts out #

Engine Code or Type *: 1.6
( Optional ) Scanner used: delphi

at idle has high co 11% fast idle ok, i have checked the o2 sensors rear one is running at 99% and 0.25v front sensor is -25% to 20% and also 0.25v.I suspect the front sensor but they both appear to be working (no eml on and no codes).

problem solved! mass air flow sensor was missing a resistor! must of come lose and gone through the intake.fitted new sensor all o.k

Evening all,

I have something similar but have a query. Where is this resistor? The vehicle I am dealing with has exactly the same problem but comes up with a fault code relating to Air Temp sensor which is scanning at - 40c. Voltages on AFM are Battery Voltage, 5v, 0v, 1.5v and 2.5v. Have nothing to compare these figures but battery voltage seems unusual to me. Replaced AFM with 2nd hand unit and although readings were not taken, mil showing same fault and ACR G2 showing -40c. Vehicle now runs worse than ever. Replaced original AFM and after faffing about emissions suddenly come good and no more stalling. No idea what I have done to put things right so customer has got the vehicle back to try. Expecting a bite in the bum so want to be prepared with knowing where this resistor is and to check the 2nd hand unit.

this is the type you are referring to i think
number 4 is the thermistor for air temperature

Thanks Mark,

Mine has got 2 of those! However, this car is still running ok and just passed MOT test. Customer happy at the moment and will probably live with the EML illuminated. No idea how I fixed it though....another of lifes mysteries!
