Vauxhall Zafira 1.6 X16XEL 2000 - Cuts out on motorway at 70mph, ok around town #

Engine Code or Type *: x16xel

no fault codes stored but car cuts out on motorway at 70mph its ok around town its like fuel starvation and you can play with throttle to keep moving but if you hold throttle hard down it comes to a halt starts up ok i slackened fuel filler cap and could not get the fault i have diconnected charcol filter under o/s/f wing and you can blow through filter so presume not blocked any ideas thanks paul

Hi

Had a problem with a vectra, swirl pot in tank not filling correctly, that was only problem when fuel level fell below 1/4.

Not sure if this is the same idea, but worth considering.

Have you checked the throttle body?,have a look I bet it's caked,unbolt the four tork's bolts,flip it over to clean underneath flap properly too.

ok i will take throttle body off tomorrow and have a look i must admit it doesnt idle as well as it should but i cant see how this would make it hold back i will report back tomorrow
