Peugeot 306 - Running rough and cutting out #

Hi

This car is running rough and cutting out. The fault code logged is 'Emission Contol o/s' I feel this is the o2 sensor, however it is switching, but slowly and it HAS been replaced with an after market one [Part no 0258 986 506]
I have checked fuel pressure/flow, injector duration 1.6ms idle, tps, map, cts all ok. My thought is, that I have found that not all cars run well on after market o2 sensors.

Your thoughts or hints would help

Year ? Engine code? Map sensor on o/s suspension turret? if so what is the pipe to it like (split ?) Oh and scanner used would help.

Sorry, in a rush and forgot everything that matters!

1999, RFV. Map is under the mainfold, I have the scratches to prove it! As I mentioned above, the car is rough at idle and will cut out. Sometimes when you rev it, it will falter. I am afraid I dont have a gas tester so i cant tell you the emissions.

Scanner ?? as that discripetion make,s no sense and you need to get a emissions tester if you want to do this sort of work !! can,t you get whoever does your MOT,s to give it a test ?

Here in New Zealand we dont have emissions testing yet, when in the UK did have one, so, there are very little faults we are called out for which need a tester!

So, Autodiagnos, fault code OA mixture adjustment, open circuit or short to ground or low stop.

Have checked wiring from ecu to o2 plug, have checked lives and earths. All ok

Change those spark plugs for any other make. Do not fit any more NGK to that car! They are nothing but trouble on french stuff. Been there years ago with similar problems as many others on here have and nothing seems to have changed. I refuse to use them now.
Am I right in thinking this running problem occured not long after they were installed?
There may even be a mention of it in the archives

Hi Simon i think NGK changed that part number BKR6E
which is the single electrode version of that plug!
But, fit Bosch!
