Renault Megane Scenic 1.6 16v 2005 (55) - MIL on, P0340 cam sensor not plausable signal #

Year of Manufacture *: 55 plate
Engine Code or Type *: 1.6 16v
( Optional ) ECU Type: siemans s3000
( Optional ) Scanner used: kts and solus pro

car came in with mil light on and check emissions code read with kts did not want to talk to it solus pro came up with p0340 cam sensor not plausable signal and tooth missing replace sensor and put light out car was fine for a day now back with the same can any one tell me what direction to go in now

Needs a software update done with the new cam sensor on these.

thanks sean i did read a similar thing in the archives so its main dealer only and does any one know the rough cost the customer is a bit reluctant to take it to our local dealer as he did go in the other day before he brought it to me and the technician i think thats what they called him told him it was the glow plugs and it was a common fault on these diesel engines he was a bit embarrased when the customer told him it was a petrol engine ?

im in aldershot near guildford the customer is going away on holiday in it on wednesday for a week its running fine so presume there should be no problem of it braking down?

Usually causes stalling + hard start.Worse case intermittant non start.
I would get it resolved before it goes anywhere incase its a timing issue and not a software/sensor fault.
