VW Golf AGU 1999 - No spark on number 3 coil - Fixed #

Engine Code or Type *: agu

hi car came in tonight by the aa running rough so had a little look and no spark on number 3 coil so replaced the coil to no joy injector pulsing can anyone give me a head start for the morning many thanks craig

Craig, does vehicle have an amplifier fitted in the ignition system?

thanks for ur replys if this golf had a ignition amplifier where would it be located if anyone can help .checked all the wires for breaks but no luck .but carnt find the amplifier many thanks craig

If I recall,the ignition amp is mounted on an aluminium heat sink within the air intake/filter housing.hth

If its not there, look to the right of MAF and behind. This might be the same place Andy has mentioned. Info from a poor AD diagram.

I have been informed that a new ignition amplifier cured the fault
