Ford Maverick 2.0 Petrol 2003 - Fault code P0401 EGR insufficient flow - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2003
Engine Code or Type *: 2000 petrol
( Optional ) Scanner used: launch

Vehcile in with this code,egr insufficient flow!all pipe work attached & clear , no blockadges, egr valve is good.No info on "some data",could do with wiring info for the DPFE sensor!,with a voltmeter on the signal wire iget 2v constant if i introduce vac to egr valve whilst running engine note changes as expected but theres no change in readings from DPFE sensor It would be nice to have correct data at hand before i commit 90quid for a sensor,hope someone can help.

DPFE sensor faulty!signal wire now fluctuates!

Sorry for being a bit thick but what's a DPFE sensor?

It'll probably be obvious when I see the answer!

Dfferential Pressure Feedback Exhaust or sometimes in the US it is reffered to as Delta Pressure Feedback EGR.
It is a sensor used to monitor the EGR flow by sensing the difference in pressure between the 2 vacuum/pressure pipes attached to it. From this it can establish whether correct EGR flow is taking place or if there is a restriction etc. Internally I guess it's like a double MAP sensor.
There is a restriction in the metal EGR carier pipe with a vacuum pipe on either side connected to the DPFE so the sensor can read exhaust pressure and know that the EGR valve is operating when the pressure on either side of the restriction changes differently. ECU then knows EGR is flowing. My first experience of these was on the first generation Mondeos, it was mounted on the bulkhead. Think I've only ever seen it on Ford and Mazda products.
