Year of Manufacture *: 2001 Engine Code or Type *: M111.950 (possibly) ( Optional ) Scanner used: Axone 2000
This one has come back after I saw it a couple of months ago. Poor running on petrol and gas (aftermarket system not sure what make). P0130 Oxygen sensor 1 P0170 Fuel trim P0300/1/2/3/4 Misfires cyl1 to 4. P0370 Timing reference, high resolution signal A. The engine runs really poorly on occasion and in my experience gas conversions often introduce spurious misfire and fuel trim codes, so I am not too bothered about them. However the P0370 code comes back in a few minutes after a reset. I have already replaced the crank sensor and checked the wiring. Does anybody have any data on the rules for setting this code that might give me a little more insight into what is going on. Previously as well as fitting the crank sensor I found that someone had set the plug gaps to 0.007" so I reset them. I also found that the backire arrestor flap was badly bent and only opening about 10mm, which I also adjusted so it opened fully. Historically the engine has had a headgasket fairly recently but the customer is adamant that it was running badly before it went. Shaun.
