Fiat Stilo 1.6 2003 - Dash display "Engine fault high temp" - Fixed #

Engine Code or CC *: 1600
( Optional ) ECU Type: marelli 5nf
( Optional ) Scanner Used: a/d

Hi all,we've got this stilo which came in with a coil pack fault,changed the offending coilpack and cancelled the trouble codes.Switched the ignition off then on then started the engine only to find the engine warning light flashing and the display say's engine fault coolant high.
With no more trouble codes gone and a adaptions reset I'm a bit lost,I checked the dash and the engine temp was normal

We had a Stilo with a whole bunch of weird codes. Checked the fuse box near left wing and it was full of corrosion, mostly underneath. Cleaned up ok in the ultrasonic bath. We had to jump start it once and the window switches swapped sides. Lovely.

Flashing engine light on these usually means adapt-ions need setting.
Self learn by taking revs to 5k for two seconds 3/4 times, allowing a two second idle between revs.
However it's not unknown for a failed coil to spike this ECU.

Hi
Do you have 'any' ecu giving a low volts error code??
IF so try another battery,have had sulphated batteries causing the temp fault.

Hi all,eventually had the customer return the vehicle for further invesigations.....the fault seems to be the relearning of the adaptions???I tried the reving up three times and fingers crossed it's seemed to cure it.When I reset the adaptions using a/d it must have confused the system causing this fault..Thanks to all that posted ideas I can sleep again........for now
