I was called in to this one after the head was rebuilt after the cam belt broke.

The auto trans was stuck in 'limp home mode'

DTCs

Engine: P0340 CMP, P1700 MIL request from trans

Trans: P0725 Engine speed fault, P1895 Torque sig fault.

Scoped on Pico cam sensor which had been replaced. OK

Checked CAN high and low. Low was missing, cleaned ECM terminals CAN low returned but only when either engine or trans ECU is disconnected.

I cant quite get a handle on this, customer says car was fine before cam belt issue. Have checked engine and trans ecu for live and earths, all ok.

I feel that there is a possible engine or trans ECU fault but would like some guidence before I go any further.
