Honda Jazz 1.4 2002 - Pulls back at cruise - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2002`
Engine Code or CC *: L13a1 1400cc
( Optional ) Scanner Used: x431

Have car in today,jumpy at cruise,sure enough disconnect egr valve & runs fine, no stored codes,on road test using scope ,egr trace behaves normally untill at cruise & then fluctuates heavily TPS & MAP sensor traces all ok when egr is playing up , exhaust not blocked ,running out of ideas,a nudge in the right direction would help

Keith,

Have I missed something? Seems you have an EGR fault.

Yes pete but im having trouble convincing myself its the valve itself,got the feeling its a control problem may be looking for something thats not there

hi keith,we had one these years ago about that age and that was the egr valve,honda knew there was a problem they were changing them up to five years old foc.Dave Cogan

Hi keith, have changed 3 or 4 EGR valves on these in the last year. Have you tried cleaning it out with some brake cleaner to prove a point.

Thanks for your replies,took the bullet & "gambled" on the egr valve thankfully runs fine,power of the net proves invaluble thanks again, ps at least i havent got to accept a honda egr valve as my xmas present!
