BMW Mini One - EML light on, fault codes P1125 and P1229 - Fixed #

( Optional ) Scanner Used: omiscan

Hello all
Have this mini in today, eml light on,vehicle looses power but very intermitent. have not experienced the power loss at all. fault codes are p1125, p1229 but i cannot find information on what the codes relates to. does any one know. also had vehicle in about 9 months ago with similar symptoms, found poor joints in loom giving codes relating to throttle pedal, but has been perfect ever since.
once again any help would be great.

Hi Rich,

Found this on Rover.org:

P1125 - Throttle pot (valve) intermittent
P1229 - Intercooler pump driver

The P1125 involved either a re-wire or component replacement depending on age of vehicle.

Info on this can also be found on the Mini 2 web site.

Sounds complicated.

I would get onto Omiscan and tell them to sort the program out with the correct description for the codes,
Say "under the Sale of goods Act the equipment is not fit for the purpose it was sold" and you would like it sorting within the next thirty days at no expense to yourself.

Just a thought Tom.

Hi Rich, dont know if this helps, but ive spent the last few days chasing same type of fault discription, our car did not have any stored fault codes, located fault to the first lambda sensor harness it had chaffed through on the heat shield at the back of the engine every now and then it must have shorted. good luck John

Hello all, Thanks to everyone for there input, The guy decided to cancel on mon and said he will rebook.. so i'm waiting till then.

Hi guys
Sorry its been so long but wanted to be sure of fix.
so i replaced the throttle pedal as i read a bulletin on auto data saying that certain pedals should be replaced (even though it tested good).
The light went out and stayed out for a good mile and then poped back on again!!
so it was back to the loom as before.
Basically i checked all earths and re crimped all joints, also found the sheilding on the lambda sensor chaffed but not the wires themselves (Thanks John, top tip)repaired that and fingers crossed light has not come back on and customer says it's going better than ever.
