VW Sharan ATM 2000 - MIL on, Code 16795 Secondary air system incorrect flow detected #

Year of Manufacture *: 2000
Engine Code or CC *: ATM

Engine management light comes on after about 100 miles. No apparent running faults. Fault code 16795 "secondry air system incorrect flow detected" stored. Clears straight away.
Air valve has been replaced. Air pump is working and hoses are in good order.

Hi Clive,
I had same code other week on a passat, fault was small vacuum hose at solenoid "actuator" on rear of cylinder head.

The secondary air system only operates under very specific Air-Flow / Engine Load / Engine Rev conditions , which is why you may have to drive considerable distances to get the conditions for the fault to occur. Minor Air-Leaks are the main problem , however I have been told that it can occur due to an out of calibration MAF sensor , but I have not been able to confirm this personally. Best of Luck
