Audi A6 1.8 AEB 1999 - Non-start, no feed to fuel pump #

Year of Manufacture *: T reg Engine Size and Code *: AEB 1.8 Turbo ( Optional ) Scanner Used: Vag-com ( Optional) Fault Codes: None
VIN WAUZZZ4BZXN061709
Car stopped and would not restart. Quickly established that problem was no feed to fuel pump. (separate supply allowed car to start and run.
The dificulty is that the "Autodata" suppled wiring diagram does not appear to correspond with reality!
EG on autodata the fuel pump fuse is shown downstream of the fuel pump relay. However the 12V supply at the fuse is perminant ignition switched (suggesting that it is infact upstream)
Bridging the power terminals of the fuel pump relay (Acccoording to autodata, grey and with 372 printed on it) does not power the pump.
There is no mention of an inertia switch either on Autodata or in the owners handbook
(Does this infact have an inertia switch? If so, where is it?)
Are there any known wiring/fusebox issues on these?
Would anybody be able to point me towards a circuit diagram that is actually any good?
Hi, The relay you need should be relay no 4. It should have five terminals on it marked as follows; Term 30= permanent battery voltage. Term 15= Ign feed battery voltage. Term 87A= relay output to the Injectors(fuse no 29) Term 87F= relay output to the fuel pump(fuse no 28) Term S= relay switching wire from ECU on pin 4.
HTH.
