Ford Focus C Max Zetec 1.8 2003 (53) - Fault code P2008 Inlet manifold runner control #

Year of Manufacture *: 2003
Engine Size and Code *: 1800

Have this C Max in with P2008 fault code. I have gassed the inlet manifold for leaks, removed manifold and replaced breather pipe behind(split, checked both vacuum units for operation and leaks, visually checked both sets of butterflies, refitted and the fault re occurs, have even plumbed out both control solenoids so that the butterflies are open permanently and still having problems. Still lack of power.

Any ideas guys?

Hi Jez
We have focus c-max in today with the same fault as yours, ours has made no difference to the running of it at all, spoke to ford today they said to check pedal, checked all voltages and all where ok did find that the ref voltage has been modified so that some times there is 12v instead of 5v. Just wondered if you had found a fix for it . Email any time if you need to phone. Thanks Steve.

hi the last c max i looked at with manifold flap faults was the vacuum unit i scoped it and found the unit to be faulty ie signal but no operation
so it might be worth a check to confirm vac supply and vac feed to the flap
if memory correct the valves are on a plate on the right hand side engine bay above and toward bulk head and gearbox
