Skoda Fabia 1.2 AZQ 2004 - Code P0441, emission control system incorrect flow intermittent #

Year of Manufacture *: 2004
Engine Size and Code *: 1.2 AZQ
( Optional) Fault Codes: P0441

This vehicle has been in several times with mil light on. Keeps coming up with 16825(P0441) emission control system incorrect flow intermittent. A collegue has already changed the purge valve, and all the pipework seems to be in good order. Not sure what else to look for, any clues?

Because it is a flow code then it would help to know what the ECU uses to ref it. (I don’t know) MAP/MAF, throttle position and engine speed possibly. Check all the pipework as well as both the valve and solenoid. If that’s all ok then look at the other signals that may be involved.

Hi Dave, check to make sure the valve is not stuck open by blowing down valve, also if car has been over filled with fuel check carbon canister.

Hi all, I think that system uses the Lambda sensor signal as the feedback sensor for that circuit.

When the system is in closed loop and the valve is opened the mixture will go high if the canister has fuel in it, and conversely when the canister is empty the signal will go lean.

Once the valve is open the ECU just modulates the injection time to bring the system back into the neccessary switching pattern for the Cat to work whilst the EVAP is open.
