Vauxhall Signum 2.2 2004 - Fuel pressure fault, code P1191 - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2004
Engine Size and Code *: 2.2
( Optional ) Scanner Used: kts

Hi guys i have a fault code P1191 which relates to fuel pressure i have changed presure reg and presure sensor ,the fuel pump is putting out 4.5 bar so i presume this is ok the problem feels like fuel the main agents say they change the pump as well as the items i have changed has anyone come across this problem cheers

The fault code you note P1191 has at least four possibilities, there should be more info like pressure low or pressure high, system malfunction, etc

Which one does your code refer to and what testing have you carried out regarding the code?

Also what is the engine code?

Hi Mark thanks for the reply the engine code is722YH the fault code is system malfunction after talking to more people it seems like the fuel pump is at fault.The pressure from the tank is correct at 4.5 bar so i am going to stick my neck out and order a pump will let you know what happens cheers

Seriously though Nige, thanks for the kind comment, although I am sure that I am unworthy of such praise.

I have had a few of these, I have found that.. If vehicle has poor performance and misfiring - found pressure in rail to be low, fault has been high pressure pump.

Same fault code (p1191) Vehicle cuts out. Normally cuts out at idle or low rpm. Fault has been pressure regulator, sticks closed. So pressure in rail is too high, especially at idle and engine cuts out.
