Peugeot106 1.1 HDZ 1999 - ECU fault on idle control #

Year of Manufacture *: 1999
Engine Size and Code *: 1.1 hdz
( Optional ) ECU Type: bosch ma 3.1

Have this old 106 with no idle control [racing away tickover] is it posable to replace the ecu with a second unit other than sending it away for them to make free running and how.

Ray how sure are you that the ecu is at fault?

if i put on my brake out box I can drive the idle control moter from that using a 9 volt battery I have tried a new motor so I would say that the wiring and motor check out ok. codes are for idle motor which will not clear. ray

Evening Ray,

No idea how fast this thing is running when at "idle", but can I assume that the tps and cts check out ok?

Yes Ray you can use a second hand ecu.

Hi Ray
I have had a few of these in. The fault is caused by a faulty coil pack spiking the ecu and knocking out the idle control.It is a fault that can be repaired. Try ECU technologies on 01889575057 they can help you.

Hi Allan,

The problem you mention was indeed very common on Sagem SL96 ECUs However I don't recall any instances of this when a Bosch ECU has been fitted, although I am not saying it isn't possible.
