VW Golf 1.6 2004 - ECU coding #

Year of Manufacture *: 2004
Engine Size and Code *: 1.6
( Optional ) ECU Type: Bosch
( Optional ) Scanner Used: Verus
( Optional) Fault Codes: none

Golf suffered from water ingress into ECU - circuit board shot away. Have ordered a genuine new item but as we cant get any data of the old one we can't program new. Is this a main dealer only job or has anyone got a silver bullet to save us

Well you'll need to program the immob. unless you've ordered an unlocked one. To do that you'll need the pin. Actually, thinking about it if it's a 2004 i'm assuming it's a mk5? In which case I doubt you'll be able to sort this one yourself, especially if you only have the verus at your disposal. Sorry to be the bearer.

Thanks for the reply - I thought that might be the case. I have heard VCDS might get me halfway there but without SKC and PIN I think I'm stuffed. regards Si

VCDS should do it no problem. Verus should do it in expert mode. But the problem is getting the SKC. If you can get this you're sorted but it would probably be cheaper to find a mobile VAG specialist with a 5052 and GeKo to do it for you.

Good thinking Sean, I don't think Autologic requires a pin. Just a second mortgage!! Hopefully someone local with it will pipe up.
