Saab 93 2.0 16v B204E 2002 - Every now and then blows fuse 26 (ecm) - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2002
Engine Size and Code *: 2.0 16v B204E

Just hoping that someone has come across this fault. Every now and then this vehicle blows fuse 26 (ecm). It can go 100-150 miles before it happens.Sometimes it stores code 1640 ecu relay. Have found that when this fuse is blown the feed to the ign coil pack and some sort of relay near the throttle housing disappears. I know that these suffer with coil problems but i've never known one to blow fuses. Any help much appreciated,

Hi

If you can separate wiring, wire in in-line fuses with a slightly lower amperage to the different components and see which one blows.

Thanks for your reply David, will look into the feasability of your idea, only problem is I'm not sure if the two components I've mentioned are the only two that fuse 26 feeds. I suppose a wiring diagram might help unfortunately autodata only do a/c and abs diagrams.

Forgot to post the fix for this one. Turns out it was the coil pack blowing the fuse which then put engine into limp home mode.The limp home solenoid which is on the same circuit then has to be reset manually.
