Peugeot 307 2002 1997 - Hesitation at light throttle, 50 mph #

Engine Size and Code *: 1997
( Optional ) Scanner Used: solus

Hi. This one has me about beat. When hot and light throttle I sometimes at about 50 MPH, get a slight hesitation. From another garage who fitted 4 correct plugs, coil pack and a cam sensor. Only code was for this sensor. Cleared and not come back. CO 0.01, HC 0 ppm. CO2 14.8 and o2 .24. lambda is 1.021.Runs so well other than this hesitation. Not got smoke machine but done all the usual checks and spraying while watching o2 readings.OK.Removed EGR and fitted bypass plate. Thought I had it but after about 10 miles the hesitation was there just the once. Not checked cam timing but with the engine running well I doubt this will be out. Your thoughts gentlemen would be appreciated.

Hi Les.
Engine code would help !! You need to get a smoke machine, you will not regret it,but i don,t think it will help much in this case.
Do you have a VAC Gauge
I sure if you enter the engine code into the Forum search something will come up like hydralic tappets !

I may be wrong but i thought that some of the pugs had lean running issues and software flashes cured this but i am not sure which models ??

If i am correct these run on map sensor not air flow meter , maybe worth unplugging map sensor and see how it drives in defualt mode it may point you in the right direction.

Your right Lee. No air flow but map sensor led I think. I will let you know.

Well that did not last long

. You could remove the map and tap it against some tissue and see what falls out!!! but don,t use any sprays (carb cleaner)

Garage took car away but now back. On road test with vac guage connected and when hesitation occurred. the guage stayed steady. Looking at live data the temp is 128c. When looking on eobd the temp is 78c which is what the guage is reading. Tried with launch with same readings. These readings may send me on a wild goose chase. What do you think?
