BMW 218 1.8 2005 - Valvetronic internal fault #

Hi All

I have this car in at moment with intermittant sticky valvtronic eccentric shaft motor, any ideas on labour time & whats involved with the replacement

Hi Keith
just done exactly the same job, you will need the valvetronic motor £161.67 and the cam cover gaskets (rubber). Its easy enough to do, once you have removed the camcover you will see it. You could easily have it done in an hour or so.
The motor should set itself, just clear all the dtc's when you've finished as it will probably be in limp.

Not sure if its the same but on the N62 engine the Valvetronic limit positions have to be learnt via diagnostics.

When you have finished might be worth just checking.
