Vauxhall Astra H Z16XEP 2006 - Unknown code P1115 - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2006
Engine Size and Code *: z16xep
( Optional ) ECU Type: delco mt35e
( Optional ) Scanner Used: dec superscan 2
( Optional) Fault Codes: p1115

Mil light comes on with no affect to vehicle performance. Fault code P1115 unknown code present. Autodata description is P1115 engine coolant temperature sensor 2 ecm controlled cooling system-circuit malfunction. Used picoscope to measure temp sensor output-perfect reading with no glitches which mirrors what is seen on live data.fault code returns as soon as vehicle is started. Had no time to go any further.just wondering wether the autodata description is correct and wether there is a 2nd coolant sensor or is it possibly refering to the electric thermostat.

working from memory here

does that not refer to sensor on radiator
seem to remember a tsb about wiring fraying to this but could be halucinating

Hi

Sounds like there are sensors, have you tried pulling the plug on the engine sensor to see if it logs an sensor or ?

Finally got this back in and indeed there was a second sensor on bottom of radiator with wire broken off at multiplug.Thanks for your replies.Regards alwyn
