Renault Clio 1.2 16v 2001 - Slow response from throttle, codes 531, 597, 535 & 626 - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2001
Engine Size and Code *: 1.2 16v
( Optional ) ECU Type: magnetti marelli
( Optional ) Scanner Used: solus pro

Hi folks

Wonder if you could give some assistance on this one, either no or very slow response from throttle fault codes present on first reading.
531 pedal potentiometer circuit track one signal incorrect- current
507 after ignition relay supply circuit short to +12v-current
535 pedal potentiometer circuit track 2 short to +12v stored
626 battery voltage short to earth

I have changed pedal and throttle motor from a good vehicle no change, codes 535 and 626 cleared but 531 and 507 will not . having read relative posts i have checked harness for breaks or damage multi plugs for corrosion, sustitusion of all relays i can find, checked fuses no difference . on applying full throttle i either get no response or a max 3500 rpm and codes 535 and 626 appear but no matter what i do codes 531 and 507 will not clear .I am starting to wonder if the code 507 may be an e.c.u. problem preventing throttle response.
any assistance would be most welcome.

Alf have a good look at the white plastic multiplug in under bonnet fuse compartment near the battery. Water ingress very common.

Thanks kieth have seen that one on other posts and have checked it looks to be a good clean connection

Alf is this the type with the six pin plug at the pedal. you will find that track two is the pin nearest the kick panel. I always remove the six pins from the white multiplug. Can you gave any live data for both tracks.

track 1 actual 0.52 at idle, part throttle 0.78, full throttle 0.86
track 2 actual 4.56 at idle, part throttle 4.32,
full throttle 4.24

pps sensor 1 .74 at idle, part throttle 1.36, near full 3.14, full throttle 4.66

pps sensor 2 1.5 at idle, part throttle 1.66, near full 2.18, full throttle 2.6

Hi Alf I had a chance to look on a Clio 2002 1.2 16V today. the live readings where Track 1 0.86 and track 2 4.79 the car drove well. I still think it's a wiring fault lost + - ect.

Thanks for the reply kieth , sorry forgot to answer your question last time the throttle connections are six contacts in one row front to rear in line with the car. i agree could well be a wiring problem but my autodata has no pin info. to check,are you aware if the body control module could have an effect on this im just thinking of the 507 code which i would think refers to that module, just trying to eliminate possibilities, I have another clio on site which is good which i can substitute bits, will try swopping module not sure if it would require coding time will tell

fixed!!!!! found local renault specialist with clip system found same fault codes and used his experience with common faults but finally decided on an e.c.u. customer did not want to spend £500 so found second hand one with b.s.i. and key for £120,fitted and fixed
