MG ZR 1.8 2002 - Misfire, code P1522 #

Year of Manufacture *: 2002
Engine Size and Code *: 1800
( Optional ) Scanner Used: snap-on solus pro
( Optional) Fault Codes: p1522

Hi

This car has a misfire

On live data readings the cylinders are not misfiring

The sanner says undocmented code

The MG P1522 says a rare classic this one "trigger store coil 2, timing error - out of range"
can you help.

Evening Gerald,

I think you will need to produce a lot more info on this one to illicit helpful responses.

What tests have you performed to determine which cylinder(s) are mis-firing?

Have the basic checks been undertaken to determine the viability of the ignition system?

Is the misfire permanent or intermittent?

Is the mis-fire present across the whole rev range?

We will try our best to help but much more info is required.

1 Get it on a better scanner that does give a code discription.
2 Phone snap-on for advice and if none is forthcoming, complain.

the 1522 can be a spurios code with rovers and mgs which can throw you off the right scent ,have you tested for air leak on the inlet manifold ? has the headgasket just been done?
