Hyundai Getz 1.1 G4HD 2005 - Code P0340 crank sensor malfunction - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2005 '55
Engine Size and Code *: 1100cc G4HD
( Optional ) Scanner Used: SOLUS PRO
( Optional) Fault Codes: P0340

Customer came in with MIL on, so scanned for him.
Code P0340 present, cleared, and re appeared every 3rd start.
Have just replaced crank sensor and still the MIL comes on with same code.
Has anyone had this before?
I am now thinking either ECM or wiring break.
This one has a good crank and pulley, so no late signal etc.
Any help greatly appreciated guys.

Is there a pattern here or have you read the code correctly. ??

I think I can see the jigsaw falling into place.

Solus pro, ? fault codes,? descriptions, ? or is it just my twisted mind running away with me again.???

Hi Liam, check the crank, there is a TSB for these, could be giving a sporadic signal.

Thanks guys - today I have learnt a valuable lesson - DO NOT TRUST SOLUS PRO CODES!!!!!!

went on to autodata and low and behold, cam sensor, not CRANK sensor. - B%&*$?£!!!!

I have now changed the CAM sensor, all well.

Blooming chasing my tail today, been so busy etc.
I really must not rely solely on the solus, clearly its not 100% on its descriptions. - although this is the first time i've been caught out.
