Mercedes Benz SLK230 2.3 1997 Kompressor type170 Auto - Accelerates itself - Fixed #

( Optional ) Scanner Used: kts
( Optional) Fault Codes: none

Hi all have this slk in at the moment and between 60 & 70mph it accelerates it self sometimes it kicks down and really takes off the only way to stop it is to jump on the brakes and bring it below 50mph .Live data shows accelerator position working ok with throttle position at 65% & 35% when fault occurs.I heard that cam sensors can leak causing oil to end up in the ecu but this one's dry. Throttle plate moves freely in workshop and the cruise control system seems to be fine. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance

What's the air flow meter up to when fault occurs these can be quite troublesome on these

Found a cracked abs ring at osr wheel repaired ring and cleaned out throttle body road tested and all seems ok.I personally can't see the relevance if anything I would think an abs fault would have the opposite affect.One of the tests I done on the road was to check the output from the ecu at throttle motor using a low amps clamp and found a current rise as the fault occurred this indicated that the ecu was controlling the throttle motor incorrectly?Anyway time to give customer his car back any more info and I will post.

Hi

Customer has been back in touch and says car has been alright since abs ring done,can only assume traction control stepping in?nice safety feature!!!!
