Vauxhall Vectra 1.8 Z18XER 2006 - Knocks like a diesel when hot #

Year of Manufacture *: 2006
Engine Size and Code *: Z18XER
( Optional ) Scanner Used: SOLUS

This vehicle OK when cold but knocking like a diesel when hot. Also very flat. Suspect cam phasers. Is this a straight job do do and any special set up required. Auto data 2010 no info which I find surprising.

Hi Les,

How did you get on with this one? I have a 2007 Astra Z18XER with knocking at low revs and cam phase faults stored for both cams, did you change both phasers?, Is anything more than the normal cam timing tools required?
