Nissan Micra 1.0 1999 - Codes P00E1 & P00E5 #

Year of Manufacture *: 1999
Engine Size and Code *: 1000
( Optional ) Scanner Used: snap on solus pro
( Optional) Fault Codes: P00E1 & P00E5

Hi

Drove a car to work today coughing along the way customer asked to look at as it keeps cutting out. Got her in the garage now i have the check engine light flashing and it wont start grrrr, plugged it up and i got 2 undocumented codes P00E1 & P00E5.

Can you advise please

Hi John,

I think to get any useful response from UKAT, you need to put a lot more effort and detail in your post. e.g full details of engine mechanical / ignition / fuel / electrical system tests ( & the results ) already carried out so far.

with reference to undocumented fault codes Snap on and you technical data provider ( AD ? ) should be your first port of call.

hi if the managment lamp is flashing my past dealings with nissan i would try and take a look at the imobiliser as well as ecu wiring (check to confirm supply and earth ect)

Did it Fail to Start before code reading it or after. ?? I have seen a few nissans that fail to start after reading and erasing codes, But they are usually Ok after being left stood for a while.

Has it got one of the fuses that corrodes away or gets bad connections on it in front of the battery in the plastic box. ?? ( i think some of the later models didn't have them ) ??

Have a look at this link where someone else has the same problem ( Also using the Solus )and follow the link to show how a 4" piece of wire is a better code reader than some so called Professional Scanners.

Thats a brilliant link Tony- I never knew that could be done. My kts has never been able to read these as it says you can't pin out and have to buy an adapter lead with resisters built in. I think it was about £200 from bosch!
